What does a typical day look like for you?
I wake up, slam a coffee, and take my dog Phoebe to the dog park. Once we're home, I get in a workout before a quick shower and making breakfast as I jump on our team touch base. During the day, I edit pieces from our writers, work on larger projects, and write our newsletters and sponsored content. By 4-ish, Phoebe is ready for another play, so we head out and run around before dinner. My dinner plan is typically "something in a bowl," so I love soups, grain bowls, and pasta right now! I wind down by watching a little television, doing the New York Times crossword, and reading before bed.
What are 3 tips you’d give someone looking to improve their overall wellness?
Tip #1: Take yourself for a walk—you don't need a dog, a destination, or a commute, just your legs and maybe someone to talk to on the phone while you get your steps in!
Tip #2: We always say that everything is better with friends, and that goes for anything fitness and wellness related too. An accountability buddy or support group can make all the difference.
Tip #3: Make sure every meal has more than one color in it— a rainbow-esque meal means it has lots of fruits and vegetables!
Favorite form of exercise?
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
People don't care about what you're doing as much as you think they do—so just do what you want!
Favorite Farmer’s Fridge menu item?:
The North Napa Salad combo! I try to recreate it at home myself all the time, but the Farmer's Fridge version is just better.
What’s your favorite recipe to make at home?
When I can't think of anything else to make, I do a Greek-inspired grain bowl with whatever grain I have, massaged kale, olives, sundried tomatoes, feta, red onion, and chickpeas. It hits the spot every time.
